“The JKAWF INDIA KOLKATA Convocation Ceremony 2018” held at the Circle Club, Kolkata with His Excellency Mr. Masayuki Taga as the Chief Guest on last Sunday the 1st of July, 2018.
The JKA Dan Certificates, JKA Passports, JKA Individual Membership Cards and JKA Licence Cards for Instructor, Judge and Examiner; all issued by JKA HQ Japan were distributed along with the Official Recognition of Dan and Coach Accreditation from the national federation KAI to all that passed.
The JKAWF INDIA KOLKATA hosted the JKA Black Belt Convocation Ceremony today at The Circle Club, Kolkata to award and felicitate 83 JKA Black Belt candidates that passed the most prestigious JKA Black Belt exam held on 1st May, 2018 conducted by the Japan Karate Association’s Examiner Katsutoshi Shiina Shihan from Tokyo headquarters.
The JKA is globally acclaimed as Oxford or Harvard University of karate, the oldest karate organisation in the world established in 1949 in Tokyo and currently having branches in over 140 countries.
Today these JKA Black Belt certificates and JKA Instructor’s Licences from Japan were awarded by the ambassador of Japan in Kolkata His Excellency Mr. Masayuki Taga in prsence of about 150 karateka, teachers and parents.
Mr. Taga expressed his pleasure seeing so many people, young and old all persuading Japanese Budo (martial art) karate that are trying to adopt rich Japanese culture through their diligent study of JKA karate. He said that he’s very happy that karate is going to be introduced as Olympic sports in Tokyo 2020 but historically karate is meant to be a martial art and the main purpose of karate are: To strive for perfection of character, To be faithful, trustworthy and sincere in whatsoever you do, To cultivate strong spirit, To learn to respect everything that you come across and while you achieve all these, not to be big headed or snob but humble and refrain from aggressive behaviour. Thus karate should be taken as a way of life that helps overall human development.
The candiades were also rewarded with recognitions and certifications from the karate’s national federation, Karate Association of India (KAI).
Many Dan awardees have expressed their high satisfaction, commit to progress further through regular training and thanked their respective teachers and the leadership team of JKAWF INDIA Kolkata.
A memorable day well spent by all that attended the Convocation Ceremony.
