15th JKA Asia-Oceania Federation Seminar, Bangkok: The first session of the second day concluded successfully. Ogura sensei took us through various kihon-waza that are related to Kata JION. Once satisfied, he almost killed us with repeated practice of Jion. The whole kata and parts of that were repeatedly displayed by Naka sensei in his masterful form in slow motion and then in correct speed and power. Naka sensei’s executions of certain complicated moves in extra slow motion are exceptional. Ogura and Omura sensei have mentioned many common mistakes that are being made by many of us while Naka sensei acted the wrong way of doing things too for us. Anand sensei’s translation was surely very helpful, all throughout.
At the second part of the Session we were revised through the JKA Rules for Competition (Shobu Ippon); both theory and practical. This session was majorly leaded by Naka sensei. A great educational day indeed. There is a JKA Party tonight.
