  • JKAWF INDIA TEAM IN “JKA 2ND ASIA-OCEANIA KARATE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019”

JKAWF INDIA TEAM IN “JKA 2ND ASIA-OCEANIA KARATE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019”

JKAWF INDIA Team performed not so bad considering this was the first JKA International event for them in abroad.

At the “Girls 9 Years Individual Kata” Final, MADHUSMITA SINGHA scored 34.5 jointly with the Japanese girl (who got the same score) to get the 4th place. She missed the Bronze as they awarded only Gold, Silver and one Bronze (not joint 3rd). Little Madhusmita of New Barrackpore broke into tears as she expected joint 3rd place / Bronze (as in Indian events). In her category all the medals were won by the Japanese kids.

ADRITA BISWAS of Bhatpara, North 24 Pgs got 6th place in Girls 12 Years Individual Kata. She did KANKU DAI in the Final that got her a total score of 35.3. All three medal winners in this category were Japanese too.

TANISQ BANIK of Jadavpur, Kolkata lost against Kurokawa Toa of Japan in Boys 11 Years Individual Kata. He defeated Tath Sato of Thailand in Kumite but lost against Iino Yuki of Japan in the 2nd Semi-finals.

We congratulate both the Team Coaches Puneet Bhattacharya Sensei and Arindam Sikdar Sensei for their constant guidance to the kids. Thanks to team support staffs Binod Kumar Gond Sensei, Atanu Biswas and Biswajit Singha too. Last but not the least heartfelt thanks to Somnath Palchowdhury Sensei for showing the way.

Thank you all the well wishers for supporting the team.
